Rob Depew
Founding Partner
Through many years practicing employment law with the Bay Area’s best — at Wilson Sonsini, Morgan Lewis, and Hanson Bridgett — Rob established his strong reputation as a trusted resource for keen legal insight and wise counsel in a rapidly evolving cultural and regulatory environment.
Before founding RED Law and Employment Law Resource Group, Rob was a member of the renowned Employment Law Group at Wilson Sonsini. There, Rob provided compliance litigation, counseling, and training services to senior executives, founders, board members, and human resources professionals in a variety of technology, life science, and other growth business enterprises.
In addition to his role as founding partner of RED Law, Rob also serves as Co-Chair of the National Center for Lesbian Rights Anniversary Circle Campaign (a national legal organization dedicated to achieving full civil and human rights for LGBTQ people and their families).
In 2014, Rob received the Minority Bar Coalition’s annual Unity Award, an award granted by a network of 40+ diverse Bay Area bar associations to attorneys who have shown exemplary commitment to promoting the cause of diversity. The 2020 edition of Northern California Super Lawyers magazine, published by Law & Politics, recognized Rob as a “Super Lawyer” in employment and labor law, an honor limited to those evaluated to be within the top 5% of lawyers practicing in the jurisdiction.
Rob is a graduate of the University of California, Hastings College of Law (J.D., 2002) and Columbia Union College (B.A. and B.S., magna cum laude, 1998). He also studied international law and human rights at Leiden University in the Netherlands (2002).
Rob and his family live in San Francisco. He is a proud father, a fair-weather cyclist and a devoted gallivanter.
